burdened with glourious purpose
I am Loki of Asgard, and I am currently the professor of Astrophysics and "magic," as you Midgardians call it. I'll be happy to aid any student who may need it. However, disrespect me and you will pay.

Well it seems everyone is excited about prom -

I loved my high school prom, I was even on the committee. Growing up here… it’s something that’s ingrained in you.

I’ll take your word for it.

Usually you just order them… wait until you find out the color of her dress though. Get the flower to match the dress but get the ribbon to match her eyes.

You’re quite well-acquainted with these matters, then? Thank you, I shall keep in mind.

It’s like… a bracelet. But with fresh flowers on it. Girls are traditionally given one by their date and men tend to wear boutonnieres.

Hmm… Midgardian culture is very strange, but I suppose I’ll have to comply. I shall find her the finest corsage in all the nine realms.

Are you going to get her a corsage?

What is a corsage?

All stories do have happy endings. Your girlfriend? Well, it’s sweet that you’d go with her. I’m sure she’ll enjoy it.

Whatever you say. I’ll take every measure to ensure that’s she will indeed enjoy it.

harper-delwyn:

Well, as a girl you grow up thinking that a princess would be a wonderful thing to be. Because our princesses always come with princes who love them with all their hearts and happy endings. Who doesn’t want a happy ending? Well, I’m sure they’ll be plenty of us that if you chose not to go it won’t be a problem.

Oh yes, the idea that all stories have a happy ending… such a naive idea. Well, even if there are enough I’m sure my… girlfriend, that is what you Midgardians call it yes, would want me to attend with her.

Well it seems everyone is excited about prom -

Prom is… the one night other than a wedding that a girl gets to feel like a princess. And it’s just something that we here on Earth have done for a very long time. Maybe you should attend, then you can see how it’s a right of passage.

I will never understand the Midgardian fascination with being a princess. But, I suppose I don’t have much of a choice as to whether or not I attend seeing as how teachers are supposed to at least chaperone, are they not?

Well it seems everyone is excited about prom -

harper-delwyn:

It’s prom. Every little girl gets excited about prom… I mean, not that you would know that you’re not really a little girl… I’m sorry that came out wrong. Do they not have dances where you come from?

Right… I see… Of course there are dances where I come from. Asgardian festivities are legendary, but we do not have this thing called “prom,” so how can it be a right of passage?

Which I mean is… a totally good thing. It’s a right of passage and all but… some of the other feelings… are… not so appropriate.

I don’t understand how it’s a right of passage. And in regards to some feelings being inappropriate, teenagers will be teenagers.
